Costa Rica

We went on our summer vacation this past week.... and we headed to Central America. Overall it was a great trip. Only down side was during our trip Costa Rica had a tropical depression in the area and it rained more each day than typical (of course we were there it had to rain more). The resort we stayed at was great and all-inclusive- even better. We spent some time on the beach, and in the pool, and reading under the huts. Overall just relaxing and and enjoying some time together.

Lance on the beach.... pre "Scuba Steve" adventures in snorkeling.

The hot springs we went to on our excursion to the rain forest. They were GREAT... especially since we were freezing after a horseback ride through the rain forest on horseback. (Pretty sure after the horseback ride it will be a little while before we are able to have children - ha ha ha. it is not like riding horses in Texas)

This was Lance and I on the zip lines in the rain forest. We saw howler monkeys and beautiful scenery.
Over all we had a great time and enjoyed a little of nature and the beach. The trek home from Costa Rica to Miami and finally to DFW made for a really long day of traveling but it was nice to have a week with my husband all to myself. He goes back to work on Monday and I will begin to pack for my trip to see my cousin and her family. I am sure I will have lots of pictures to share from that trip.

Try this again....

It is a new year and we are going to give this blogging thing a try again. As the school year comes to a close in a few weeks I thought it would be a good time to try to start blogging again. Lance and I are enjoying life just busy with work. Making big plans for all the things we want to accomplish this summer. I will be posting some of the pictures I am going to work on taking at upcoming events and our progress this summer on the following goals:
1. Taking a fun vacation together
2. organizing the house and cleaning out
3. preparing for a new school year the changes ahead and getting a new classroom put together (yes I am going to be moving out of a multi-purpose/ storage/ tutoring room into my very own classroom :) )
4. taking more photos and becoming better at it
5. and lots more....

Asking for prayers...

Lance and I have some dear friends Marcus and Courtney, who have a precious 8 month old son named Cal. We are asking our friends and family who know and don't know Marcus, Courtney and Cal to send up some prayers for healing. Cal has been having seizures and has been going through a battery of test and biopsies to try and figure out what is going on inside his sweet little body. A friend of Courtney's has set up a blog to update people as we get information on Cal.

http://prayingforbabycal.blogspot.com/

Please feel free to check out the blog, leave a note of encouragement, and /or send up a prayer for this precious baby and his family.
Thanks-
Katharine

James 1:1-12

1James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ,
To the twelve tribes scattered among the nations:
Greetings.

Trials and Temptations
2Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. 4Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. 5If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. 6But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. 7That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; 8he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does.

9The brother in humble circumstances ought to take pride in his high position. 10But the one who is rich should take pride in his low position, because he will pass away like a wild flower. 11For the sun rises with scorching heat and withers the plant; its blossom falls and its beauty is destroyed. In the same way, the rich man will fade away even while he goes about his business.

12Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.

SOME PICTURES I JUST HAD TO SHARE

These were the Canadian goslings that were born earlier this year on the pond near our house.
This is Cade sporting his Boston Red Soxs hat with his mommy watching the geese and their babies.
But this is my favorite and just precious.... we went to eat lunch and Cade decided he needed to share my coke.  Yes he was drinking from his own straw and me from mine.  However, I did have to fill my cup several times since he thought I was drinking "his" coke.  Gee nice of him to share.    I love the pic though so I thought I would share.  He is so stinkin' cute!!

Vacation Summer 2009

These are a few of our 100's of pictures from our trip to Washington DC.  We had a great time and enjoyed a lot of the cities history.  To bad we did not have longer to explore more of the city and the history.  But it was fun anyway...

Changing of the guard at the "Tomb of the Unknown".

Some of the pictures from the Natural History Museum (part of the Smithsonian).

Lance and Oscar.... he may have been a little grouchy during the trip.
Seinfeld's Puffy Shirt... one for the Nezworski clan

The Lincoln Memorial was Lance's favorite along with Arlington National Cemetery.
